Usually when we go to the gym there are people who will tell us things about fitness that are not true, ignore them. While you can get some great workout tips, you can also pick-up information that may be inaccurate or false. We doubt that people purposely disseminate false information at the gym. It is much like many other situations where people are unaware they don't know what they are talking about. That happens all the time in life. It's important for this reason that you ensure you are getting accurate information from only well known credible sources. This task will be made much more simple with the tips found here.

Have you ever heard that swimming is a great way to lose weight? This is in no way true. Swimming has many benefits but losing pounds isn't one of them. In fact the water buoyancy that supports you during this exercise takes away from the aerobic aspects of a weight loss exercise such as jogging or running long distances.

Sweat is another subject in this series. Working out is synonymous with sweat typically speaking. Most also believe the flip side of that too. In fact sweat is simply your body's air conditioner. There is in fact no correlation between sweat and physical exertion.

You do not have to sweat to burn calories. Walking can accomplish this for you.

The myth we hear most is "I don't have time to exercise. All it takes really is 45 minutes to an hour a week. This short exercise schedule is better than nothing especially if you can top it off with a 30 minute aerobic workout on your days off. Take your kids for a walk, use your work breaks to snag a little more time. Try taking a power walk on your lunch hour or jumping a rope in the comfort of your living room while dinners cooking. Three ten minute slots in our schedules is easy for anyone to find.

No doubt you will hear all kinds of lies and a few truths about fitness in the world. Believing anything you hear can be tricky so be careful.
